Not really related, but somehow it is.. When I hear Portland I always think of Maine, but most Americans I encounter seem to think of Oregon first.. How come? Is it because the one in Oregon have nine times the population? I mean, isn't the one in Maine almost 200 years older?

Most Americans aren't sure that Maine exists.

Ahh, so to them it's more like a mythical place filled with lobster?

Yeah they might be familiar with the idea that Maine exists. Also, lobster is pretty meh as far as seafood goes.

I do enjoy lobster, but I must admit I prefer a nice broiled Norwegian salmon.

This would be bad here. We have the highest commutes and probably the least efficient vehicles possible.

I used to think I liked Lobster but I really just like butter. I prefer some nice scallops and if I have to have salmon I'll take it in sushi.

I prefer lobster without butter really. Scallops are nice, but they're hard to come by here, I can only get the frozen variety..
I really do love salmon though, and trout even more if I'm honest, guess that's because I can walk less than a mile and catch awesome trout on my own.

this, a thousand times this. Scallops and crab are both so much better than lobster.
